Today, I’m going to talk about audience attraction, and how I use my show as a marketing tool that helps me brand myself as a luxury agent, and how you can duplicate my results.
It used to be that everyone wanted to become a television star. Nowadays, everyone wants to become a Youtube star.
However, no matter what industry you are in, whether it is a food blogger, business person, real estate agent, or entrepreneur–you have to develop your audience.
First, let’s clarify some terms.
What is an Audience?
An audience can be a whole number of things. From the people who are your friend on Facebook, to the people who read your blog, or subscribe to your mailing list.
If you are connected to this person and that person has the potential to view your content–they are your audience.
However, if you want to get really specific then you can’t just focus on growing an audience you need to narrow and niche it down even more.
A target audience refers to people who are your ideal client, not shoppers at Target stores.
If you know who generally buys your products and services the most, you can spend most of your marketing efforts on attracting these people.
Additionally, you can devote your expertise to content that attracts more of these people and less of people who don’t buy your product.
For example if you sell products for toddlers, you probably aren’t going to make a cool trendy hip-hop music video themed video ad, because teenagers aren’t your target demographic.
Creating the Audience Attraction
The way to get more of your ideal audience in front of your content is to make your content really, really good.
In order to do that, it has to have a specific purpose and be really to the point, or it has to be so good that your personality wins over your audience.
Either way, you need to be engaging them in a creative, and unique way with all of your content across each platform.
How to Get Started
The easiest step to getting started as a content superstar is curating content. Curating content means sharing content that has been produced by someone else.
It’s so easy because you don’t have to create the content yourself, you just share other people’s content!
Anytime that a member of my team finds an article I have them send it to me so that I can post it at a later time.
This could be a cool new listing, local Beverly Hills real estate news, or anything that goes along with my branding.
Anyone could do this, because all you do is share the content. However, that’s not how it’s perceived.
What it actually says is that you are informed, and it focuses your audience on paying attention to you for your credibility.
Just because someone else penned the article doesn’t mean they won’t think you’re intelligent for sharing it.
It’s fast, fun, and easy.
You post it and you’re done.
Then, watch as more people start liking your brand because of the content that you share.
Only then should you start moving on to the next phase.
Creating Your Own Content to Draw a Bigger Crowd
I’ve been on MDL:LA for a decade, and since we started there are dozens of real estate shows all over the internet and on major networks.
However, the same type of stardom is available and ready for you as well.
It’s not reserved for the lucky few of us who got on TV. In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Internet is here, and it’s way bigger than television will ever be–if television is still even around in the next decade.
So what can you do to grow your brand and get rapid results?
Well, you need to start a cult…following, by creating your own lovable, sharable, and bingable content.
Just like some of the weirdest, yet lovable movies on the planet, you need to find your dedicated fans.
Don’t actually start a cult, because that’d be a weird thing for you to do.
Instead, you should be your normal, oddball self in a way that helps people engage better with your brand.
Notice that I said helps them engage with your brand. I don’t mean go out of your way to be weird and zany to get attention, just try to keep your ego in check, while maintaining your own award-winning personality.
3 Tips For How to Get An Audience For Life
1. Start giving away a ton of valuable tools, tips, tricks, and secrets 100% free.
This is pretty self-explanatory you create custom guides, blogs, podcasts, videos, and other sharable content that is free that helps your audience to do something better than they could without your material.
After using your free content they should feel empowered.
2. Answer audience questions and be active with them.
Gary Vee tweets to fans all the time, doing so means that he keeps expanding his fan base because people know that they have a shot of getting in touch with him.
This grows his mailing list and followers. Be like Gary.
3. Get exposure and partner with other top influencers
I can’t stress this enough: work with other people and be open to collaborating.
There’s a reason I was able to to enjoy being on television–I was open to working with others (and adding a little drama). I didn’t get my own tv show, and I would have never been able to as a young agent. Collaboration is always the fastest route.
No man or woman can do it all alone–you have to rely on the power of collaboration.
And no one can be successful without fans.
So today, right now, commit to beginning your journey towards attracting an audience.
Start with your target audience in mind, curate content, then create your own, and don’t forget to collaborate and be open to new ideas. You never know where your journey will take you!
